Stress & Trauma-Informed Somatics Coaching
Stress & Trauma-Informed Somatics Coaching
Stress and trauma-informed somatic coaching is for anyone who is done trying to “wellness” their way out of feeling physically, mentally, and emotionally miserable, and ready to go to the root of their stress symptoms.
Somatic exercises are small, gentle movements that help your body release stored stress and tension at a pace that feels safe. As your nervous system becomes more balanced, you can release up to decades of emotions that have been physically stored in the body as stress.
This work is designed to support you if you’re dealing with:
Long-term stress, burnout, and nervous system dysregulation
Unprocessed emotions and the physical symptoms of stress and unresolved trauma, including childhood trauma
Chronic muscle tension, headaches, jaw and neck tightness, and constant fatigue
Hip, pelvic, and lower back pain, sciatica, knee pain, and joint discomfort
Posture issues and pelvic tilt (anterior or posterior)
Pelvic floor tension and pain, which this work can support alongside care from a pelvic floor specialist
Sleep issues, insomnia, gut issues, brain fog, and the heavy, wired-but-tired feeling
Long-term anxiety and low mood, alongside therapy or medical care
The body stress that comes with hormonal imbalance, stubborn belly weight, or weight that doesn’t move while your body is stuck in fight or flight

Frequently Asked Questions

Somatics is a way of working with the body that focuses on internal sensation and felt experience, rather than how a movement looks from the outside. Instead of pushing for strength or flexibility, somatic practice uses slow, gentle, often small movements to help the nervous system recognize safety, release chronic tension, and move out of stress patterns the body may have been holding onto for years. It's less about exercise in the traditional sense and more about reconnecting with the body through awareness.
-
Regular somatic practice can support a calmer, more regulated nervous system, which often shows up as better sleep, fewer symptoms of stress (pain, restlessness, gut health issues, menstrual pain, sleep issues, skin issues) and more ease in your body day to day. Over time, many people also notice less chronic tension, greater body awareness, and more capacity to handle stress with resilience. It pairs well with other movement and mental health practices rather than replacing them.

We meet online via Zoom weekly for a 45 minute 1:1 session, where we check in on your goals and whatever has come up for you that week, and move through exercises together. You'll get the recording from your session to practice with on your own throughout the week, until we meet again. Between sessions, you can reach out to me in our Telegram message portal and I will respond in the morning between 8-9am PST on weekdays. It takes around 30 days for stress and trauma to release out of the body and around 60 days to create a new neural pathway. Coaching contracts start at a minimum of 1 months so that there is time for the body to respond to the somatics portion and integrate the work done for any specific goals you have for yourself.

It is recommended that you keep things gentle while you're moving through somatics sessions. High-intensity training keeps your body in a sympathetic (fight-or-flight) state, which works against the downregulation this work is designed to support. Walking, swimming, restorative Pilates, and easy cycling all pair well alongside it.

Yes. Somatic and nervous-system work often brings feelings to the surface that weren't fully processed the first time around. That can look like tears, irritability, or a wave of tiredness. It doesn't mean anything has gone wrong. Let whatever comes up move through without needing to explain it.
